The important part first

Stockly has no account and does not upload your inventory anywhere. Products, stock levels and movements live on your phone. No server of ours receives them, because we operate no infrastructure that touches your business data.

This is not a promise of good intent, it is how the app is built: no code exists that sends your inventory anywhere.

What is stored on your phone

DataWhereWhat for
Products, with their code, price and barcodeLocal SQLiteIt is the catalogue you look things up in
Movements in, out and adjustmentsLocal SQLiteStock is the sum of the movements, which is why each one is kept
Warehouses and categoriesLocal SQLiteTo keep apart what sits where
App preferencesLocal SQLiteSo it looks the same next time

Uninstalling the app removes all of the above. Since there is no server, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf: what you delete is gone.

The camera

The camera permission is asked the first time you scan a barcode and is used only for that. The image is neither stored nor sent: the code is read on the spot and what remains is the number, not the picture.

You can deny the permission and keep using the app: the product code can be typed.

What third parties collect

The app uses two external services. Neither receives your inventory.

Google AdMob — ads

Only in the free version. With Pro, the ads SDK is never even initialized.

AdMob may collect your device's advertising identifier, your approximate location from your IP address, and ad interaction data, in order to show and measure advertising.

  • Google's policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
  • If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, the app shows a consent form before serving personalised ads, and you can change your choice later from the privacy options.

RevenueCat — purchases

Only if you buy or restore Pro.

RevenueCat receives an anonymous installation identifier and the transaction data Google Play gives it, to verify that your purchase is active. It does not receive your name, your email or your payment details. Google Play handles those and they never pass through the app.

  • RevenueCat's policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
  • Google Play's policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
